Hide and Seek

The kiddos thought they were hiding from me in daddy's closet.
Can you see Grace covering her face...she must be in the witness protection agency or something. Briggs is like..."Whats going on in there?"

Having fun playing at the table while I cooked dinner.  I vacuumed and moved the table and chairs and Grace thought that was great fun.  She moved all the chairs so they were sitting next to each other 'in a line' and they were walking on them thinking that was so neat.
This picture was perfect!! He stepped into daddy's shoes and then I snuck and got the camera.  He saw me aim at him and said, "Cheese!"  So adorable!!!!
Today we got dressed and headed out, we got gas and then off to get groceries, then we came back for lunch.  Aaron took a good 2 hour nap which he hadn't in a few days and I got one too!  Grace had dance class tonight and then the kids got a bath before bed.  I wrapped the lil gifts I am taking to the hospital for the kids 'from' little sister and K brought up the luggage so I could pack a bag.  I decided to make a list of what I would need for the hospital that way it would be easy to throw the rest of my toiletries n such when it was time to go.
Now I am just waiting, trying to keep the house clean until its time to go!! :)

Foot Long Burrito??

So tonight I was going to make chicken enchiladas and actually try the recipe with shrimp as well because I had a handful of frozen ones left in the freezer.  So before I left for playgroup I took out what I thought was chicken breasts, but in fact was pork.  So instead K went to Los Bertos and got us dinner.  K decided on a whim that he was going to try their new foot long burrito...yes a foot long carne asada burrito!  He did not eat it all..thank goodness! (And we don't normally eat with an empty laundry hamper on the table)
My Air Bear did not want his picture taken.

Grace eating her rice, with her TinkerBell dress on.
Pregnant me...tired of being pregnant..looking huge in that maternity shirt.
I had to take this picture, I was trying to get Aaron ready for bed and he ran and hid in his closet next to this box of diapers.  I had just moved these diapers there today.  The look he gave me before I took this picture was priceless..so sneaky and clever he thought he was!
36 weeks and 4 days. Going to the grocery tomorrow and trying to keep focused on just living life and being patient!

36 weeks & 3 days

I went to my OB appointment this morning and my Group B Strep test came back negative.  That thrilled me to no end!! That means that I don't have to have an IV unless I get an epidural.  They always have such a hard time putting/keeping my IV's in that I am stoked I don't have to do it.

I am also 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced now so really this baby could be coming soon!!! Of course I could stay that way for awhile as well, but the trend is that they come early..so I think this one will too.

On my list of things to do today, fold baby linens and wipe down the crib and find the newborn insert for the car seat.  There may be more, but we will see.

Just taking it easy otherwise....waiting for little sister to make her appearance!

Boring day

This Monday brought a windy blustery day and so we spent the day at home doing nothing!  Aaron woke up cranky! The first half hour he just fussed and fussed about his Nutri Grain Bar and tried to put it back together.  He definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed as you can see in the picture below!  Grace is all about her princess dress and we watched Cinderella again today.  She loves princess stuff lately.

Here is a happy boy, it's hard to catch a smile though.
 Almost!
So here I am 36 weeks and 2 days.  I should have taken the picture at night because then you could have seen my face better.  I need to Windex my mirrors..the kids brush their teeth in our bathroom so the mirrors get dirty fast.
I am looking forward to tomorrows OB appointment at 10am!  Hopefully there has been some progression.  The last 2 days I haven't felt as many contractions, just little sister stretching out, and a lot of sciatic nerve pain.  That has been increasing...boo on that! I'll keep you posted!

36 Weeks this weekend

So I don't have any pictures from this weekend but I figured I better do a post.  I have noticed that I tend to not post if I don't have any pictures and I want to remember more so I better write even if I don't have any pictures to post.

Saturday we got up and had breakfast...Daddy slept in because he stayed up way to late playing his game.  And since he doesn't really do that, that often I let him sleep.  Also he won't be having much of those nights soon anyways, and I told him I need him to be fresh as a daisy for when little sister comes.  :)  After he got up and got dressed we headed out to Costco. Needed to get some more toilet paper and such while they still had the coupons out.  After Costco we headed out to Cafe Zupas for some sandwiches and salad.  It's a gourmet, soup, salad and sandwich place.  It is super delicious although kinda of pricey, although we got the kids chicken strips this time instead of the grilled cheese (they weren't really a fan of) and they ate all the chicken strips and fruit cups.  So I was glad for that.  Because lately it seems you get them something that they want to eat and then they don't really eat it, and I end up thinking, "Why did I even bother?"

After lunch we headed over to the hospital to preregister for when I deliver little sister.  Then we decided since we were there with the kids we would go up to Labor and Delivery and show Grace and check it out ourselves.  I had forgotten that they had remodeled the post partum rooms and they were nice, especially the bathrooms.  There was one baby in the nursery and they have a little step for the siblings to be able to see into the nursery.  Grace liked it.

Back home for naps that didn't really happen, so we ended up having a lazy afternoon watching Cinderella.  Grace was a HUGE fan.  She hadn't seen it before and she is getting so into the princess stuff lately.  She has a Belle dress up dress that she loves to put on over her clothes and her Tinkerbell costume too.  After the movie she put on her Belle dress and danced with Daddy around and around and kept asking him if he liked her glass slippers.  It's funny because I didn't really think she would get into all that stuff at first but she is, and she loves lip gloss and chapstick too!  She is so polite, if she sees some of my lip gloss she will ask if she can wear some, so sweetly.  And even when I say no, she is very sweet about it.

This morning Aaron woke us up early, and I was feeling really sore.  Typically I feel sore and stiff in my inner thighs and pelvis when I wake up but then feel better as I walk around changing diapers and making breakfast.  But this morning it was not going away, and church was a little uncomfortable, with their folding chairs.  After church we grabbed a quick bite to eat so we could get home and get a pork shoulder in the crock pot for carnitas.  My girlfriend was coming over for dinner with her son and he and Grace and Aaron had a blast playing outside and in.  It was nice we just had the doors and open and although we had some cloud cover it was plenty warm in the 70's.  It was nice to gab while the kiddos played and K was a gem and took care of cooking and cleaning while I relaxed on the couch talking.  Probably best though because I have been having a lot of sciatic nerve pain when I walk and it just shoots down my butt and kills me!  I feel like the biggest gimp and I think  scared Grace a bit yesterday because I had some bad ones while I was getting Cinderella on.  Poor kid, she was like, "Mommy you ok?"  "Yeeeeppp." Thru gritted teeth.  :)

The other pain in the butt has been the heartburn.  It doesn't matter what I eat or especially drink, if I do it too much I get heartburn.  With the other kids I could drink juice or water and be fine, just not soda.  With this one, the last week I can't drink a lot of water or eat too much or I get heartburn.  So I have mostly lost my appetite, it's just the not drinking a lot of water that kills me.  I feel so thirsty sometimes and just want to drink and drink.  It's probably a good thing though the way my clothes are getting too tight.  I haven't gained a huge amount of weight, my doctor is fine with it and it is right in the target weight gain area, but I think a lot of the weight is going to my butt! Some of my clothes and such are just getting uncomfortable, more so than I remember with Aaron.  But I suppose the point is that you don't remember and that is why you get pregnant again!!! :)

Tomorrow is Monday and I am not sure what I am going to do yet, but just try to stay busy so the day goes by fast.  I am looking forward to Tuesday morning and my OB appointment is at 10am...so we will see!  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Letters and Latest Achievements

A girlfriend of mine gave me this letter book where the pages are slick so the kids can trace their letters and then wipe the pages off.  Grace LOVES it! She calls it her big bird book and always wants to do it.  She will sit quietly and trace and trace her uppercase and lowercase letters.  There are also some other alphabet game in there as well, that she can do with our help.  When we got home from playgroup today Aaron had passed out already so I just took him directly to bed.  Grace had some lunch and then I let her do her letters.  She is such a doll.  I mean how precious are these pictures?
And look at her letters... S T U ...she is a little perfectionist about it.  She does each page then wipes it clean before she has to turn the page.
Oh on the pages below she has to draw the line from the capital A to the lowercase a and they having pictures of things that start with that letter.  So for A they have a picture of Abby from Sesame Street and an apple. I think she has it memorized now!

My boy's latest achievement is climbing up onto the big chairs by himself.  I took these before Grace woke up from nap and later he did it when she was standing right there.  She was so proud of him.  "Good job Aaron! High five!"  And then he did...high five her.   I think Aaron is teething again.  Yesterday he felt warm and he had a runny nose and then today I changed a bunch of poopy diapers for him and again with the runny nose.  As well as his naps were shorter today and yesterday.
Doesn't he look so big here???
Had a wonderful day at playgroup this morning, the kids mostly all played outside and then I let my kids play outside while I mopped my floors.  I took these before I mopped.  Not that you would notice the difference in a picture.  Actually not that you can even notice the difference now, once the dogs and kids came in despite me trying to 'protect' my floors somewhat.  But it was nice and it wasn't muddy out today so some paw prints are better than muddy prints.
Tomorrow it is supposed to be 70 degrees so I am going to take the kids to the park and feed them there before hitting the grocery store.  Then hopefully I will get some laundry done in the afternoon.
The nice days that we have been having are extra appreciated by me, (so if you could keep those up Lord that would be great!) I feel like I can and want to get so much done.  Whereas when its gloomy out, I just feel tired and overpregnant and just want to lay around. So I am so glad that it's supposed to be nice thru Sunday, I think.  What would be really convenient would be to have some rainy spring days when I am in the hospital having little sister!

OB Appointment

This morning I had my 35 week OB appointment and they did a swab for Group B Strep.  I had Group B with both Grace and Aaron.  It's not a big deal but they give you antibiotics in an IV during labor because it can be harmful to the newborns.  Sometimes you can have it and sometimes not.  I am hoping that I don't have it this time around, I really do not want to deal with the IV.  I have deep veins and it is such a pain for the nurses to get a good IV line going.  I really could do without.
My doctor also checked my cervix and I am about 1.5 centimeters dilated and 30% effaced.  So those contractions I keep feeling are doing their thing.  We are down to weekly appointments now and my next one is Tuesday at 10am.  I don't think I ever went to weekly appointments with Aaron.  I think I had my 35 week appointment and then he came the Wednesday before my 37 week appointment which was on a Friday.  And since I mentioned Aaron came early at just before 37 weeks I think that made my OB want to move it up some this time around.  Which of course is fine by me.
I wish I could say I am trying to be patient, but I am not.  I try not to complain, but in my head I am just looking forward to the next checkpoint to see where I am at.

I tried pulling out the newborn clothes this afternoon while the kids were napping.  I thought about napping when they went down, but I wasn't tired and so I thought going through the baby clothes would be a good chore.  However my belly is to big and it kept hurting my to bed over into the box.  Then I did get tired once there was about 30 minutes of naps left.  So I came upstairs to lay down for a few minutes but only got about 15 minutes of quiet time.

It was kind of funny though.  Aaron's crib is on my wall and I can hear him bang into the walls when he wakes up sometimes.  This afternoon I heard him kicking the wall and he may have cooed once or twice but he woke up happy which was nice.  Then all of a sudden I heard lamby turn on really loud on the whales button and then 2 seconds later I heard Aaron cry a freaked out cry.  Poor boy scared himself with the whales being up too loud! I went in there and he was talking to me, "Coo!' And pointing at Lamby.  Silly little rabbit.

I discovered last night that Grace sleep walks.  I went in to check on her before we went to sleep and she startled me because she was sitting on the edge of her bed rubbing her eyes.  All of a sudden she gets up and walks towards me and then lifts her arms up for me to hold her.  I pick her up and then put her back into bed and she lays right down, asleep the whole time.  I had thought she had been sleep walking when K was gone and my mom reminded me of the story of how Kayla heard her in the hall and barked.  And then the bark woke her up.  I heard that your not supposed to wake a sleep walker but I don't really know why or if that is true.  I will have to look into it.  And we will be changing our door locks now.

I dyed my hair this morning before my appointment.  I am really annoyed.  I always but the same brand and color.  I normally use 2 boxes because my hair is so long and I like to freshen up the color all over when I do it.  However being this pregnant I didn't want to take that long standing there, so I decided to just use one.  The color I get is Deep Mahogany Brown.  The boxes I have advertised they are ammonia free which didn't notice when I bought them, but did realize that it didn't nearly smell so strong while I was coloring my hair.  However...it actually lightened my hair a reddish color.  You can't really tell that it looks that much different, unless I were to show you pictures of before or after.  Right now it probably looks like I didn't do anything.  But I of course can tell.  The last time I colored my hair was right before my brother's wedding.  And when I do it, it is a deep rich color.  Maybe I will take some pictures tomorrow and post some before and after.  I am truly annoyed.  A waste of money and my time and my energy and patience, which is already at a low! :) I already emailed the company, hopefully they send me some new product or something. I am also going to try to take back the other box and get a regular box.

Tomorrow is playgroup and the middle of the week, one more day closer to 36 weeks....
